7 TIPS
ON HOW TO AVOIDBEING DUPED BY
SUSPICIOUS OFFERS
TIP 1:
Verify the identity of the person contacting you. Sometimes they pretend to be somebody else than they are in reality.
TIP 2:
Think twice if you invite unknown persons into your house. Trustful people thus often become victims of theft.
TIP 3:
Ask them to submit the offer in writing, preferably on a headed paper of the company. By doing that you will decrease the risk that the persons concerned will speak in the name of the company that they do not represent in reality.
TIP 4:
Do not let yourself be duped by a seemingly convenient price. Read the submitted offer thoroughly. It is advisable to check all the offer essentials (products, services, individual price components, fees, business conditions). The price may be eventually considerably higher.
TIP 5:
Do not hurry. Ask for time to consider the offer and use it for verifying the information and responding to your possible questions or additional requirements.
TIP 6:
We are ready to help you in assessing the price offer and its comparison with the SPP offer. Since many a time such contracts or business conditions contain also different fees, for example charged services related to customer attendance.
TIP 7:
In case somebody introduces himself as a SPP representative, do not let yourself be caught, since we do not offer services by means of the door-to-door selling. SPP meter-reading employees are not allowed to ask you to submit any identity documents or for cash. We notify our customers about meter-reading in advance by a written notice. In case they ask you for your signature, check the document to be signed first.
Should you have already signed such a contract, under the applicable law on consumer protection you are entitled to terminate a contract concluded in the form of door-to-door selling (i.e. in case the contract was concluded within the premises of your household) within the time-limit of 7 days, namely without any reasoning. Terminate the contract with the supplier with who you have signed it.
Should you have any doubts or questions, please, contact us. We will gladly help you to deal with the developed situation on our SPP Customer Line 0850 111 363 or in the Customer Centers of SPP.
