Use your gas connection, become a SPP customer

Did you inherit, purchase, rent or otherwise acquire a piece of property with an existing connection to the distribution system and would you like to use gas? That is an excellent decision by your firm or organization! Before that can happen and you can use all the comforts of the blue flame shared by our customers you must conclude a Contract for Gas Supply with us.

Who can apply for the Contract for Gas Supply?

  • Natural person – entrepreneur
  • Legal persons
  • Institutions established under state administration and self-governments
  • Physicians, lawyers, self-employed
  • Private persons

How do you conclude a Contract for Gas Supply?

If you acquired a piece of property which already has a gas connection and you want to use it you are required to have the right of use to that property and prove it or present the consent of the property owner who agrees to your use of the property at the conclusion of the Contract for Gas Supply. You are also required to prove the validity of your right to use the concerned property or provide a current consent from the owner during the life of the contract upon request of the supplier, within 20 calendar days, particularly if the owner has cast doubt about the duration of this right or consent to the supplier

Documents on the right of use are:

  • Title deed
  • If you are not the owner of the property, then you need a document confirming the right to use the off-take point – such as a lease or rental agreement, a mandate contract, the owner’s consent or the like

Situations in which you can apply for a Contract for Gas Supply

  1. You purchased a piece of property from an owner who had natural gas and paid for it, meaning that the property has an installed and functioning gas meter. In order for you, as well, to use gas you must follow the steps that you find here.

    You purchased a piece of property from the previous owner who used natural gas and paid for it (with an installed and functioning gas meter). In that case the following steps must be taken:

    1. Change of owner - the new property owner submits a protocol on transfer and acceptance of the piece of property confirmed by the previous owner in which the metering device is identified with its number and its meter reading on the day of transfer and supplies data and documents needed for conclusion of the Contract for Gas Supply.

      Data needed for conclusion of the Contract for Gas Supply

      • Name of customer or name and surname of the customer
      • Registered office or residence
      • Company ID (IČO)
      • Company VAT ID (IČ DPH) (for VAT payers)
      • Tax ID (DIČ)
      • Statutory representative
      • Contact information (contact person, telephone, email)

      • Bank account number of the customer (if the chosen method is non-cash payments)
      • Estimated consumption in kWh (m3)

      Natural person - entrepreneur

      Legal persons

      • Document on assignment of a company ID (IČO) by the Statistical Office (Code list of industries - OKEČ from the Statistical Office)

      Private persons

      • Personal identification card for inspection during personal contact (for example, Identification Card, and, in case of an alien, a Passport, a residence permit and the like)
      • Copy of a power of attorney if the customer is permitting someone else to represent him or her
    2. The customer may use the form Application for Change of Off-Taker at the Off-Take Point – Registration, which is downloadable here

    You can register:

    • In person, visiting the closest SPP Customer Centre,
    • In writing, mailing the documents to the SPP, a. s. address
    • By fax to 02/58 69 90 00,
    • By e-mail to zakaznickalinka@spp.sk, a constituent part of which will be a completed, signed and scanned application for change of off-taker at the off-take point (with a scanned power of attorney if the customer authorized someone else to represent him or her).
  2. You purchased a new property from a developer and you have an installed and functioning gas meter registered in the developer’s name. For you to be able to start using gas you must follow the steps that you find here.

    If you purchased a new piece of property directly from a developer and you do have an installed and functioning gas meter but it is still in the developer’s name you must take the following steps:

    1.     2. Conclude a new Contract for Gas Supply

    You can register:

    • By e-mail to zakaznickalinka@spp.sk, a constituent part of which will be a completed, signed and scanned application for change of off-taker at the off-take point (with a scanned power of attorney if the customer authorized someone else to represent him or her).
  3. You rented a property from an owner who used gas and paid for it, meaning that you have an installed and functioning gas meter. For you to be able to start using gas, you must follow the steps that you find here.

    If you have rented the property following a previous user of gas who paid for it (with an installed and functioning gas meter) then you must take the following steps:

    1. Change of user - the new user of the property submits a protocol on transfer and acceptance of the apartment confirmed by the previous property user or owner in which the metering device is identified with its number and its meter reading on the day of the transfer and supplies data and documents needed for conclusion of a Contract for Gas Supply.

      Data needed for conclusion of the Contract for Gas Supply

  4. You purchased a piece of property from an owner who did not use gas for a long time or did not pay for it, meaning that the gas meter was disconnected. For you to be able to use gas you must follow the steps you find here.

    If you purchased an older piece of property where there had been a non-paying owner or the property was not used for a long time (and the gas meter was disconnected) the following steps must be taken:

    1. a) Have a pressure inspection test made by a competent entity. SPP recommends that you use Gas Services of SPP-Certified Partners,
    2. b) Submit the pressure and inspection report and the following data and documents required for a contract for gas supply
