Fill-in your fantasy about ecological motor fuel, fill your car with CNG fuel
It might seem to you that CNG is a novelty which only slowly finds its supporters in the ranks of the motorists. The contrary, however, is the truth. There aremore than 7.3 million vehicles driving in the world with CNG drive and there are almost 12,000 filling stations in operation on the globe. More and more mobile manufacturers produce cars with CNG drive. In Europe there is majority of cars and the most developed network of filling stations in Italy, Russia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Sweden and France. We would appreciate if Slovakia could enter the ranks of these conscious whoppers.
How do the CNG filling stations function?
The basic principle of CNG filling station functioning is compression of natural gas by compressor to a pressure of approx. 20 MPa and “injection” of gas to pressure tanks in the vehicle. Natural gas is in the tank constantly in the gaseous form. Prior to the compression process, the gas is filtered and dried.
Filling stations for slow filling
- compressor power 1 – 10 m3/hour,
- vehicle filling 3 – 12 hours
Slow filling is suitable for filling of cars in the households and for night filing of small corporate fleets.
Filing stations for fast filling
- compressor power 50 – 2 000 m3/hour,
- tank for CNG with volume 100 – 15 000 m3 CNG,
- vehicle filling 3 – 15 min
Fast filling is used by majority of CNG filling stations determined for public filling of CNG cars, larger corporate fleets and large numbers of buses.
