CNG advantages will be appreciated by everybody
More and more it is spoken about alternative motor fuels to which belongs, besides bio-fuels and hydrogen, also CNG. But differently from other alternative fuels, currently CNG is already available in sufficient amount, there is constantly increasing the number of mass produced cars with CNG drive, and its distribution to the customer is quite simple. But CNG has many more advantages.
Do you know what does the abbreviation CNG mean?
Motorists often times confuse the abbreviation CNG with the designation LPG, but in principle these are two different types of gases: LPG, i.e. Liquified Petroleum Gas, it is liquid propane-butane and it is produced as one fraction of crude oil distillation. CNG, i.e. Compressed Natural Gas, it is natural gas compressed by the compressor of the filling station to the pressure 20 MPa and in this “compressed” form it is filled to a pressure-tank in the vehicle. Prior to its use for powering the vehicle, it is reduced to almost atmospheric pressure.
Do you know what are the advantages of CNG in comparison with the classical fossil fuels?
- CNG is more environmentally friendly
- CNG is economically beneficial fuel, cost savings represent 26 % to 45 % (update – prices of September 2008)
- CNG is safe fuel
- CNG is without any smell
Do you know how much CNG costs you?
CNG is clearly a financially more advantageous motor fuel than diesel or petrol. CNG is friendlier to the motor which when combusting natural gas is worn at a slower pace and also the price of CNG is substantially lower than the prices of other classical fuels.
